Ever looked up at the stars, and wondered what it would be like to officially name something up there, that the rest of the world would know? 15 year-old Aryan Mishra knows that feeling! He will be talking to Meadows students in the science lab this Thursday morning before school (conference begins at 7:30 AM, welcome to come in at 7:20 AM) about his discovery, answering questions, and inspiring our Mustangs to go for their dreams, no matter the hurdle. This is the first international web conference for Aryan (he will be talking to us from New Delhi, India)- be here to witness this event! If you have any questions, e-mail Mrs. Michael at jmichael@mbusd.org Can't wait to see you this Thursday morning!

PTA Reflections
| Please come visit the cafeteria to see all the wonderful artwork from the 2014-2015 PTA Reflections Program during this Thursday's Open House. This year's theme was "The World would be a better place if..." Please celebrate their achievement and support our community's awareness regarding the importance of the arts in education. This is a nationwide art contest organized by the PTA and this program has encouraged millions of students across the nation to participate and explore their artistic talents by creating art for fun and recognition. |

So many educational funding decisions for our district are made at the state or federal level. Take an hour and come hear more from your CA
Lawmakers on this critical topic. Please join Superintendent Michael Matthews, MBUSD School Board, Manhattan Beach City Council and Moderator Paul Silva in welcoming U.S. Congressman Ted Lieu, California Senator Ben Allen, and California Assembly Member and MBUSD parent David Hadley to discuss the impact of federal and state legislation on our schools. For more information, please see the attached flyer and letter. |

Amazon Smile is a program through Amazon where they donate 0.5% of the purchase price of all items to the charity of your choice (Meadows Elementary!). If you are a prime member your purchases are still eligible for prime just like before and you can use your existing Amazon account. Sounds easy! How do I sign up?...... - To shop you go to smile.amazon.com instead of amazon.com (and not the app).
- The first time you visit Amazon Smile you will need to select Meadows Elementary as your chosen charity (find us by searching Meadows Elementary and then select "Meadows Elementary PTA").
- Every time you shop remember to use smile.amazon.com NOT amazon.com.
Send this on to friends and family!

Forms can be returned anytime in a Tuesday envelope or to the front office collection box. Extra Box Top submission forms are in the front office. Thank you for helping!
