Lawmakers on this critical topic.  Please join Superintendent Michael Matthews, MBUSD School Board, Manhattan Beach City Council and Moderator Paul Silva in welcoming U.S. Congressman Ted Lieu, California Senator Ben Allen, and California Assembly Member and MBUSD parent David Hadley to discuss the impact of federal and state legislation on our schools.  For  more information, please see the attached flyer and letter.
Valiente Charter School Book Drive
books

Meadows 5th Grade Girl Scouts are working towards earning their Bronze Award.  They are excited about their project, which is helping to build a library for a new charter school in an underprivileged part of Los Angeles.  It is their goal to collect as many new or gently used books as they can, and need your help to do so!  They would appreciate your donations very much and will be placing collection bins at the Rowell drop off zone and at the front office.  The book drive at Meadows will begin March 2nd and end March 13th.  The girls will also be collecting books at Camp Expo on March 14th.  Along with the book drive, the girls will have a lemonade stand at Camp Expo from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  The kids at Valiente College Preparatory Charter School would love it if you could donate books!  If you think about it, books are the reason we are smart so please donate your used and new books for kids and teens.  Please contact ronda.ferguson@verizon.net if you need more information.
