Through a grant from the Beach Cities Health District, our District is introducing an evidence-based social and emotional literacy curriculum, in tandem with our academic programs, which will help our students better engage in learning, limit their distractions, self-regulate their behavior and improve their focus and resiliency training.  The program is called MindUP and it utilizes a brain centric approach to learning integrating neuroscience, positive psychology, mindful awareness training and social and emotional learning, as tools and strategies for classroom success.  Maria Hersey, Ph.D the US Director of Education & Training will be at the MBUSD Board Room on 2/24 at 9:30AM to do a presentation on the program and answer questions. Please join us if you are interested in learning more.
