Principal Meet and Greets - August 6th and 14th
Dear Meadows Parents,
We are thrilled to welcome Katherine Whittaker Stopp as our new principal at Meadows. We are sure you all can't wait to meet her so we are hosting two "Meet and Greets" before school starts (adults only please). Details below:

Smarter Balanced Test Focus Group Opportunity
If you would like to participate in a focus group regarding the Smarter Balanced Tests administered this spring, please see the attached document. You must have children who were in grades 3-8 and 11 and who participated in the tests. (Students in grades K-2, 9, 10 and 12 did not participate in the 2014 Field Test.)
As you'll see in the attached letter, two dates, one in July and one in August, are being proposed for the Los Angeles County Focus Group session. Below are the dates under consideration for the Los Angeles County focus groups:

Comedy & Magic Club - Get your tickets by August 3rd!
Come laugh the night away while supporting the Meadows PTA! This is one of the most popular events of the year, the , so we are doing it again! The Comedy & Magic Club fundraiser will be on Wednesday, August 13th. Doors open at 6:30pm, show starts at 8pm, and delicious dinner and drinks will be available all night beginning at 6:30pm. {Pages} Summer Reading Program and FUN-Rai$er
Don't forget about our new summer reading program! A great way for Meadows families to get their summer reading books and allow for our school to raise funds! Our local bookstore, {Pages} has generously offered to donate 20% of every purchase from the pre-selected booklist back to our school!
These books have been selected for our families by a collaboration of Meadows' teachers, MBUSD librarians and {Pages}. A list of fun summer reads for parents is also included!

Either choose books from your school's summer reading list or from {pages}' Fun Summer Reads list (a.k.a. any book on our shelves).
Keep a log. The more books read (age appropriate), the more opportunities for prizes.
Turn in your list at our end of the summer pizza party featuring "surprise" author(s), awards and gifts. Wednesday August 20th at 6pm.
