2014 Meadows Parent Party - January 25th!

Now that the holidays are over - make a New Year's resolution to go to the 2014 Meadows Parent Party! The theme is 80's Prom (like totally check out the Tuesday envelope for some fun and easy outfit ideas) and the party is going to be a blast with the awesome band Wayward Sons. Most importantly, the party and live auction and raffle raise much needed funds for the PTA which benefits the students of Meadows - our children. We hope to see you there (you don't even need to dress up if you don't want to). Also, we will be selling raffle tickets this Friday at 2pm during the Ice Cream social - raffle items include an American Girl Doll, tickets to Disneyland, etc.

| Welcome back Meadows Runners! | | |
Welcome back Meadows Runners! Happy New Year! We hope everyone is ready to start 2014 running!! We will be on the field every week Tuesday through Friday, please come join us as often as you can!! Everyone is welcome!
Here are some highlight accomplishments of our runners in 2013: Meadows Running Club has completed 15,206 laps, that's 3,041 miles since September! The club has 18 Marathon Runners, 6 Double Marathon Runners and 3 Runners close to their 3rd complete marathon and it's only January! We can't wait to see what you all can accomplish the rest of the school year!!
*We tallied the laps from our last week of running in December and The Meadows class with the highest percent participation the week ending December 20th and the recipients of the Mustang Trophy is, Ms. Granberg's 1st grade!! Congrats to all those that ran!!
* Did your runner complete the Manhattan Beach Yuletide 5k? Please let us know at Running Club this week, he/she will get credit for Meadows Running Club participating!

Our online fundraising auction will take place from March 17-27 this year. We are in need of volunteers to give just a few hours of time to help make our auction a success. Help is needed in all areas from securing items from local businesses to cataloging them on the auction website. Please visit this sign up genius link to help out.

- Health & Fitness related parties (Zumba, yoga, golfing, baseball clinic, cooking)
- Creativity (Lego building, art studio, dance night, kids cooking lessons, sewing for kids)
- Adults only (wine tasting, toga themed party, tailgates, movie night, private shopping event)
- Family Parties (Begg Pool Party, BBQ, Beach Volleyball, Backyard Movie)
Party Book is found on our school website and is comprised of a variety of parties for kids, grade-wide classes, families and adults donated by the Meadows parents. Please join us for the 2nd Annual District Technology Night on Thursday, Jan. 23rd from 5pm-8pm in the new Math & Science Building @ MCHS. | Battle of the Badges Blood Drive - January 13th | | |
The Manhattan Beach Police Department and American Red Cross are once again partnering for the annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive campaign -Monday, January 13, 2014 (9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.). The Battle of the Badges is an opportunity for all badge carrying personnel, along with their friends, family and neighbors to positively impact our community to see who can donate the most blood and ultimately help save the most lives. Last year, Manhattan Beach Police Department collected 43 pints of blood from 54 participants.
