MBEF Update - It's Not Too Late To Donate!

It's NOT too late to donate! Meadows is currently at 63% participation in this years campaign. We need every family to do what they can and do their part for our fabulous schools!! 97% of elementary school families donated last year - every family needs to do their part to keep our schools in Manhattan Beach top notch! Every donation makes a difference and every donor is important, it can't be done without you. If you haven't pledged or donated, do it today at http://www.mbef.org/.

| RUNNING CLUB NEWS | | |
It was another great week at Meadows Running Club! We had many milestones met by our runners, our biggest award week yet. We want to give a special shout out to our first 2nd Marathon runner, congratulations to Malcolm Cutler in 5th grade for running 2 full marathons on our field. He has completed 301 laps and it is only November!!! I can't imagine what this guy can do! We are so excited to see what all our runners can achieve, it's not to late to join the fun! Please come out and join Malcolm and the rest of our daily runners!
This week on the field we have a couple of fun things happening. Thursday, November 21st we will be collecting canned and non-perishable food for a local food bank in anticipation of the Thanksgiving holiday. Please come on Thursday with your donations. Every can or item gets you a Running Club lap! Secondly, we will be having a surprise double lap day this week, come out and run, you won't want to miss it!!

Announcing... the return of Walk to School day with Walk-to-School Thursdays!

Walking to school helps save energy and encourages healthy physical activity. As part of the Meadows Grades of Green program, we will be handing out wrist bandanas to students who walk to school on Thursdays. We need 4 volunteers on Thursday mornings to help us cheer on the walkers and to hand out wrist bandanas. All it takes is 20 minutes, from 7:50 - 8:10. Please sign up on our Sign-up Genius and become part of our Grades of Green program - and spread the word to walk to school with your Meadows student at least once a week on Thursdays! You'll be glad you did!

 Hey Mustangs! The 'Meadows School of Rock' is coming to our school in June! This year's book will be a hardcover (think a Shutterfly book)!! Less than 2 weeks to order at the basic presale price of $34 before December 2nd. If you place your order after December 2nd, the price will increase to $40 for a non-personalized book. It's easy to earn money for Meadows! All you have to do is clip out Box Tops for Education!

 The Box Tops are located on many of the products that you already buy. When you see Box Tops, clip them out and return them to school. There is a large collection box in the front office and also in your child's classroom. Every Box Top counts! One Warm Coat Drive

Meadows Girl Scout, Brownie and Daisy Troops are at it again...helping the community! They are collecting clean and gently used jackets, sweatshirts, sweaters and coats of any size to donate to the needy through the One Warm Coat Organization. Please look through your closets and donate to this worthy cause. Donation bins are located in front of the office and near the Rowell side entry gate. Girl Scouts will be collecting through Friday, November 22nd. Thank you for your support!

Girl Scouts Collecting for Food Pantry

The 3rd grade Girl Scouts Troop 11365 is pairing up with Hope Chapel in Hermosa Beach this holiday season. We are collecting canned and boxed food for the Food Pantry with Hope Chapel. There is a collection box by the office entrance until Wednesday, November 20th. Thank you for your generosity!
