Hi Mustangs! Take a minute or two to see what's going on at Meadows.

If you have trouble viewing this email, read online at www.meadowsschool.org
First General PTA Meeting of the Year - Today

Join us in the cafeteria at 8:15am for this year's first PTA meeting.  Come have a cup of coffee and find out what is planned for the school year and see how you can get involved!  See you there!

Party Book - Join in on the Fun All Year Long!

We are excited to announce the launch of the Meadows Party Book.  What IS Party Book?   Party Book is compiled of a variety of parties for kids, grade-wide classes, families and adults donated by the Meadows parents. Parents can choose to host a party on their own or partner up with friends and host it together. Organized and sponsored by Meadows families, you can pay to attend these wonderful parties hosted throughout the year. All the money raised from the parties goes directly to support our amazing enrichment programs. Until now, families were not able to sign up for parties until the Parent Party Auction. Since we all loved bidding on and attending these fabulous parties, we thought...why wait for the fun to begin?  For more information, or to sign up to host or attend a party, click here!

Questions?  please send an email to [email protected]

Help Your Class Win $100! Join & Donate to the PTA Today
If every family in your class joins the PTA, your teacher wins $100 to spend in the classroom! We want every single Meadows family to join & donate to the PTA--at whatever level is right for you. We mean it when we say that every single donation helps our kids! The PTA uses your donations for paper, pencils, playgrounds, PE equipment, picnic tables and so much more. Please join & donate today and help us achieve our goal of 100% PTA participation! Check out our magnificent medal-level donors at the bottom of this email.
Win an iPad Mini! Become a Super Stang by 9/26

Super Stang families are our Super Stars here at Meadows. Not only do they Join & Donate to the PTA, but they also volunteer,

Visit the Meadows website regularly to stay informed.

Do all these things by 9/26 and you'll be entered to win an iPad Mini! You'll also get a Super Stang car magnet and your name posted on our Super Stang charts outside the school. Thank you so much to all of our Super Stangs!
Music Teaches Math

According to studies by the U.S. Department of Education, music helps children learn math. Over time, kids with music in their schools have higher math proficiency-- by a significant margin. MBEF grants ensure your child will have music, in every grade,

K-12. Please ensure that will continue by making a gift to the Annual Appeal. Mbef.org/givetoday.

LIFE IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES...

You never know what you're going to get. But with the Innisbrook Fundraiser, we know what to expect: Wonderful Helen Grace chocolates, quality gift wrap, magazines, great holiday/birthday gifts and more. We also know we'll raise much-needed money to help support the Meadows community. In addition, your child can earn some fun prizes! Don't forget to participate and turn your materials into the office no later than Friday, September 27. For questions, please contact [email protected].

There is a gift wrapped box in the front office for checks and Innisbrook system print outs.

Parents - Check out the Innisbrook display in the cafeteria, to see the quality of the paper and we have a sample
duffle bag, too.

 Work-room Orientation for Volunteers
Lamintor! Die-cutter! Copy machine! Learn to conquer them all at our new volunteer work-room orientation. This half-hour session will provide volunteers at Meadows with a quick overview of the PTA work-room and a brief introduction to using the various equipment. Any and all volunteers are welcome but not required; no RSVP's needed. Thursday, September 26 at 8:15 in the work-room next to the main office. Contact Lisa Becker at [email protected] with any questions.
 Shhhhh.....please.
We have a problem and you can help solve it! Our 4th and 5th graders are not able to hear their teacher after the 2:05 bell. Our kids need and deserve better. The noise level is interfering with their education. Please help by keeping your child by the upper playground, not on the blacktop, and remind them that other children are still in school on campus. Please tell your care givers to cooperate in our efforts to reduce the noise from 2:05 - 2:35.
 Family Portraits are Back!
You know that family portrait on the beach that you've been wanting to take? Wait no longer. Schedule your family portrait for the beach, under the pier or at the park through the Family Portait Fundraiser and donate to the PTA at the same time! The timing is perfect for your Christmas cards too! Sitting dates run 9/28-11/10. A portion of the sitting fee as well as your photo order will be given back to the school. Book quickly as sitting times go quick. Look for complete information in your Tuesday envelope.
