Proposed Agreement with the City of Manhattan Beach and MBUSD | | |
 As residents of Manhattan Beach with children who enjoy our great schools, it is VERY important that you take a couple of minutes to learn about the shared use agreement between the city and MBUSD. More importantly, please let your council members know how important the health of our schools is to Manhattan Beach (please send an email before May 7th)! Please see the MB Council of PTAs position on the use agreement and the letter from Dr. Matthews. Email the council members in support of the agreement. It will only take a few minutes, but it is critical to our schools!

Meadows' Teachers and Staff are Superheroes! | | |
 National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10th, and our theme this year is "Meadows' Teachers and Staff are Superheroes"! Think about how the teachers and staff here at Meadows are always full of energy and do such a super job at helping children learn and stay safe. We couldn't think of a more fitting theme.
The PTA will sponsor a nice lunch for the Meadows staff this Wednesday 5/8, and each staff member will be given a gift on behalf of all the grateful parents and students. This is your PTA donation at work! Please keep in mind that the week following our Staff Appreciation Week, the gift scrip program letter will go home in your child's Tuesday envelope. This is a great and very much appreciated way to show your teachers how much they mean to you.

Hello Running Club Families! Here is some important information you will need to know for Meadows Running Club:
1. Since today was rained out, tomorrow, May 8th is the first day, and it will take place every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in May. Start time is 7:40am on the field. Check in is at the Rowell drop off zone before 7:40am or on the field at the picnic table after 7:40. All students must have all three permission slips turned in to participate.
2. We recommend all runners wear sneakers. It would also be a good idea for the runners to have a change of shoes in their backpack just in case the field is damp.
3. For the whole month of May, if it rains after 9pm the night before Running Club, it is cancelled. If you aren't sure, don't drop off your runner. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a dry month!
4. Mark your calendars! June 1st at 8:00am is the Grand View, Gator 5k benefiting MBEF. What a perfect way to conclude National Runner's Month! To sign up, go to www.gvpta.com.
5. Lace up your running shoes, parents are welcome to join the FUN!

Grand View Gator 5k - June 1st | | |
Register today for the Grand View Gator 5k. All proceeds benefit MBEF.

Please join Grand View and the entire Manhattan Beach community on Saturday, June 1st to run/walk and raise funds for MBEF . The 18th Annual Murad Family Foundation Grand View Gator 5k is more important than ever as our district is facing serious budget cuts. The school with the highest participation & spirit (excluding Grand View) will receive a traveling spirit trophy. There are awards for the top male and female finishers and all children will receive a finisher medal. A specially designed Friendship Course is available for children with special needs within the Grand View campus.
