Have you sent your emails? 
As residents of Manhattan Beach with children who enjoy our great schools, it is VERY important that you take a couple of minutes to learn about the shared use agreement between the city and MBUSD. More importantly, please let your council members know how important the health of our schools is to Manhattan Beach (please send an email before May 7th)! Please see the MB Council of PTAs position on the use agreement and the letter from Dr. Matthews. Email the council members in support of the agreement. It will only take a few minutes, but it is critical to our schools!

Meadows' Teachers and Staff are Superheroes! 
National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10th, and our theme this year is "Meadows' Teachers and Staff are Superheroes"! Think about how the teachers and staff here at Meadows are always full of energy and do such a super job at helping children learn and stay safe. We couldn't think of a more fitting theme.
More information about the week was sent home by room parents, so please watch out for it. The PTA will sponsor a nice lunch for the Meadows staff on Wednesday 5/8, and each staff member will be given a gift on behalf of all the grateful parents and students. This is your PTA donation at work! Please keep in mind that the week following our Staff Appreciation Week, the gift scrip program letter will go home in your child's Tuesday envelope. This is a great and very much appreciated way to show your teachers how much they mean to you.

Get your healthy smoothie samples...... 
The girl scouts are up to it again..trying to make the world a better place! Troop 7585 has worked on a project to help others learn how to eat healthy. They will be passing out samples of their Green Goodness smoothie today after school outside the cafeteria. It has spinach, chia seeds, pineapple, apples, bananas and pears and is delicious! Come by and try it and pick up a recipe card so you can make it at home. You too can eat healthy! |

Meadows Running Club Starts Next Week! 
Starting May 7th, and for the month of May, Meadows will be offering a student running club. It will take place Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 7:40am - 8:00am. Your child may attend one day or all days! All 1st - 5th graders are welcome. All students that participate and complete a cumulative total of 5 miles (that is 25 laps on our field) during the month of May will receive an official Meadows Running Club bracelet (and bragging rights)!
