Proposed Agreement with the City of Manhattan Beach and MBUSD | | |
 As residents of Manhattan Beach with children who enjoy our great schools, it is VERY important that you take a couple of minutes to learn about the shared use agreement between the city and MBUSD. More importantly, please let your council members know how important the health of our schools is to Manhattan Beach (please send an email before May 7th)! Please see the MB Council of PTAs position on the use agreement and the letter from Dr. Matthews. Email the council members in support of the agreement. It will only take a few minutes, but it is critical to our schools!

 We are excited to announce the launch of the Meadows Running Club for students. Multiple studies have shown that cardio exercise in the morning promotes better mood, concentration and academic performance. Additionally, social running is fun!
Starting May 7th, and for the month of May, Meadows will be offering a student running club. It will take place Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 7:40am - 8:00am. Your child may attend one day or all days! All 1st - 5th graders are welcome. When the 8:00am bell rings, the students will be sent off to class. All students that participate and complete a cumulative total of 5 miles (that is 25 laps on our field) during the month of May will receive an official Meadows Running Club bracelet (and bragging rights)!

Meadows Pride Day - Saturday, May 18th! | | |
 Meadows Pride Day - our chance to spruce up the school for the Spring - is now set for Saturday, May 18th. More info to come, but please save the date!

Manhattan Village - Shopping for Students - Last Day! | | |
 This is our final day to collect receipts! Please collect all your receipts from September until April 30th of any shops from Manhattan Village Mall - including that cup of coffee you got for $1.95! All receipts logged in this month are double points which equates to more money for our PTA!!!! There is a collection box in the front office or you could bring them to the concierge in the mall next to Islands. If you drop them off at the mall, make sure you tell them you're "checking in" for Meadows and automatically receive 100 bonus points for our school. Meadows' Teachers and Staff are Superheroes! | | |
 National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10th, and our the me this year is "Meadows' Teachers and Staff are Superheroes"! Think about how the teachers and staff here at Meadows are always full of energy and do such a super job at helping children learn and stay safe. We couldn't think of a more fitting theme.
More information about the week will be sent home by room parents shortly, so please watch out for it. The PTA will sponsor a nice lunch for the Meadows staff on Wednesday 5/8, and each staff member will be given a gift on behalf of all the grateful parents and students. This is your PTA donation at work! Please keep in mind that the week following our Staff Appreciation Week, the gift scrip program letter will go home in your child's Tuesday envelope. This is a great and very much appreciated way to show your teachers how much they mean to you.

Soles4Souls Shoe Drive - Last Day! | | |
 The 5th Grade Girl Scout Troop #55 is coordinating this year's Soles4Souls shoe drive and it ends TODAY! Boxes are on campus to collect all styles of shoes (in wearable condition) for adults and kids. Please rubberband shoes together or bag. Shoes will be donated to Soles4Souls and sent to those in need worldwide. Help support a great cause!
