Parents, let's have our voices heard. Your PTAs are urging ALL parents (and any citizen really) to write a letter to Governor Brown to oppose the inadequate base funding amount proposed under Local Control Funding Formula. The Governor promised that Proposition 30 would be "Education for all," but under his newly proposed plan, Manhattan Beach and districts like ours stand to lose a lot more funding for education. We are asking all parents to send a letter (mailed, not emailed). For a sample letter, click here. Also look for PTA representatives at school with letters to sign on Friday. RAISE THE BASE as our students matter too. Students are encouraged to volunteer to help as well. For more information or to get involved in our letter writing campaign, contact Leanne Huebner at lpyott@yahoo.com. |
