Wine Auction Warm-Up: Join Roger & April Spencer for a fun wine-tasting party in the afternoon of Saturday, May 4th. Food will be provided. This event is limited to 10 couples (20 people) at the cost is $125 per couple. Plus you'll be asked to bring a bottle of wine. More information will be provided to the participants upon signing-up. Demystify Indian Cuisine: Class & Dinner:
Confused by Indian spices? Let Sharmila demystify Indian cooking and cuisine with this introductory class. She will introduce you to the basic Indian spices while making a delicious dinner comprised of four dishes that are simple and easy to replicate at home. Dinner will be served at the end of the class. Cost $70 per person - 5 openings available.
Dr. Becker Party - Be a Doctor for the Day!
This two hour experience will give aspiring physicians a chance to learn about anatomy, dissect real animal organs and become inspired about the field of medicine. Hosted by Meadows own Dr. Becker. Cost $75 per person - 6 openings available.
Restricted to 3rd, 4th or 5th graders only. All must have current tetanus shot.
Spinning Exercise Party at Fit On Studios w/ Kristin O'Hara: All fitness levels are welcome to join this fun workout. Drinks and food will be served. You just bring a towel, sneakers and be prepared to sweat and have a blast! 6:30 pm on April 23rd. Come with a friend or three, or do it solo! Cost $30 per person-

Our next Meals for Meadows fundraiser is at Pitfire Pizza on Wednesday, March 27th from 4-10pm. 10% of ALL sales that night (excluding deliveries) will be donated to Meadows. Meadows Volnteer Fair - April 19th | |
Save the Date! The Meadows Volunteer Fair will be on Friday, April 19th from 1:45-3:15 outside the Meadows cafeteria. Our school needs you as we plan for next year! Say you will.... volunteer! There are many choices for a small commitment or a bigger one, for working parents and at home parents. No matter how much time you have to give, there is a project that can use your help! Come meet other parents, get involved and make a difference in your child's life!

Cultural Arts Grant Awarded to Meadows! | |
We are thrilled to announce that Meadows PTA has been awarded a grant for $2500 from the Kinder Morgan Foundation for our cultural arts programs. Thank you so much to Becky McCalla who took on grant writing for Meadows this year! Her hard work is paying off . . . stay tuned as we hope to receive another cultural arts grant for 2013-14.

MBUSD Board Workshop - This Wednesday! | |
The 2013-14 MBUSD budget reductions will be discussed in a board workshop on Wednesday at 5:30pm at the district office. This is an opportunity to see what cuts are being proposed and to have a chance to speak on the topic. This session is open to the public and they will be taking public comment. This is the next step in the process of setting the budget for next year. A final budget is not due to the state until June. Please continue to stay informed!

MBUSD Board of Trustees, MBEF leaders and PTA Leaders Went to Sacramento to Fight for our Schools | |
On March 13th, fourteen parent leaders headed off to Sacramento to advocate for public education and Manhattan Beach schools. Three school board members - Ida VanderPoorte, Ellen Rosenberg and Penny Bordokas - and several MBEF board members and PTA leaders, including Meadows PTA President, Jennifer Cochran, sojourned on the annual Capital Convoy, as part of a Manhattan Beach annual PTA tradition of advocating for public education and MBUSD. But this years' trip was more critical than ever, due to changes proposed by Governor Brown. Click here to read more about the trip....

Help design the patch for Mrs. Michaels and the rest of the team's reduced gravity flight! It's a NASA tradition to create a patch to signify each mission. The team designed the patch at left as part of Team Kennedy Advanced Space Academy activities last summer. Now we need your help to make an awesome new patch for this experience! Richstone Pier to Pier Walk - April 27th | |
Come join the FUN and walk with the Meadows Team! Please register for the 26th annual Richstone Pier to Pier walk on Saturday, April 27th at Manhattan Beach Pier. Start time is 8am at the MB Pier, walk to Hermosa Pier, then back. Meadows has formed a team because it's more fun to walk with friends, classmates, and families. Jim Mora, UCLA Football Coach will be joining us as chair of this event this year. Let's walk together and make a difference! The Richstone Family Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and treating child abuse, strengthening families and preventing violence in families, schools and communities.
