MBEF Fund Drive Update

Meadows is down to 43 families who have not responded to us about MBEF. Some of you said "I can't this year, but how else can I help?" and that's OK. The remaining 297 families said "yes, I will support MBEF." We would like to say thank you to all families who at least have responded to the emails and phone calls you have certainly received by now, for appreciating the time someone took to contact you. Meadows is at a near record 87% participation. Last year we were a little higher, and it would sure be great if those last couple families could decide to make their mark today, the last day of our MBEF appeal.

One teacher in particular needs our support, Mrs. Beiting has not yet reached even the 75% required to get the lowest participation bonus. Four other teachers are 1-2 families away from a 100% participation bonus, Mrs. Radl, Mr Chao, Ms. Ames, and Mrs. Sokol. Families in these classes can make an extra big impact if they donate today. Current class standings, click here.

Meadows receives much more in grant support than we raise. Why? Because MBEF recognizes that each of us can only do what we can. No donation you make is too small to be important. Please be a part of the village here at meadows where we all come together for our kids in a way not easily replicated at other sites. Give what you can and do what you can. MBEF will certainly give back.

Thank you for your support.

Give Daffodils, Give Hope - Last Day!!

daffodilMeadows is proud to take part in the final year of The American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days fundraiser. The fundraiser offers students, parents and staff members the opportunity to buy freshly cut daffodils in various sized bouquets. Or a donation to the Gift of Hope allows fresh daffodils to be delivered anonymously to cancer patients at local hospitals and oncology clinics. A donation to the Bear of Hope gives anonymous gifts of Boyds bears to be delivered to pediatric cancer patients at local hospitals and oncology clinics. All orders, accompanied by a check (payable to American Cancer Society), must be turned into the Meadows office by TODAY, Friday, February 15, 2013. Click here to print an order form.

If you miss the deadline today, please contact Cynthia Hedges at hedgesfam@mindspring.com to arrange to drop off your order by next Wednesday.......Or you may order online at www.main.acsevents.org/goto/meadowsschool until Wednesday, February 20th. The flowers will be delivered on March 19th.

We will also be creating a Wall of Hope in the cafeteria. When you make a donation, we will display a donation card with your name, your child's name, or In Honor Of whomever you choose. You may come to the cafeteria TODAY at pick-up if you would like to fill out your donation card in person and/or order your flowers at that time.

Cancer has unfortunately touched the lives of many of us. Hope is contagious, and this event allows all of us to be part of that hope to find a cure for cancer. Please join us in our support of this final year of Daffodil Days. If you have any questions, please contact the Meadows Daffodil Days Coordinator, Cynthia Hedges, at hedgesfam@mindspring.com.
