Halloween Haunt is this Friday!
 

Get ready to be scared......the Haunt is almost here! Buy your tickets today for the Meadows Halloween Haunt - this FRIDAY, OCT. 26 from 4-9 PM on the lower field. Come join in the fun: Pumpkin Patch, Haunted House, Spooky Salon, Yummy Food & Treats, Giant Slides, Human Bubble Balls, Crafts, Games Galore AND MUCH MORE! Pier2Pier Friendship Walk is this Sunday!
Come on Mustangs....get your walking shoes on! The annual SKECHERS Pier2Pier Friendship Walk is on Sunday, October 28th. Go Vote on November 6th!

Did you know that California ranks 47th in 50th states in per pupil funding and $20 billion has been cut from schools in the last three years? On November 6th, two ballot initiatives -- Proposition 30 and 38 -- are looking to raise funds for education by raising income taxes. We encourage our parents to get informed and vote. http://www.edsource.org/infographic-initiatives.html The Manhattan Beach PTA Council endorses Proposition 38. Election Day is Tuesday, November 6th. Mustang Trot - Start Collecting Your Donations Today!

 

mustangs no typeCalling all Mustangs!  On November 9th, the 1st through 5th Graders will be running in the Mustang Trot.  And we want to make it easy for you to collect all those pledges!

  

1) Collect pledges on your donation form and then collect those pledges after the Trot.  Have your sponsor write a check, payable to Meadows PTA, and please note "Mustang Trot: [Student's name]" in the memo line, and bring to the office or put in the Tuesday Envelope.

 

2) GO GREEN!! Tell all your family and friends to donate online with a credit or debit card!  Visit the website at www.meadowsschool.org - click on STORE, then click on MUSTANG TROT (Please note: there is a small fee ($2) added for online donations. We recommend using the online option for donations of $20 or more.)

So start collecting those pledges today!!!  And see you on the 9th!

Volunteer Now for the Gig of the Year!

Meadows' annual Parent Party will be held in March of 2013. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. And, as importantly, it really brings us together to celebrate our school, our kids and their education. Of course, a good party doesn't happen by itself!! Please turn in your volunteer sheet that was sent home last week  (or print a new one here) and join the fun! Questions?  Holiday Cards through CardRaising.com: New this year! From November 1st thru December 21st, Meadows families can order high quality holiday photo cards online through our partner at CardRaising.com. Great design selections and competitive pricing make this an easy fundraiser for everyone to join in on!  Thirty percent (30%) of all sales returns to Meadows. Watch for the flyer in next week's Tuesday envelopes and then encourage family, friends and businesses to use this option!!

Hocus Pocus...Poof! The book fair is coming!

 

This year's theme is "Books are Magic!" We guarantee you will have a magical time looking through the hundreds of books we will have available. The book fair will be held 11/8-11/16 in the library, so please mark your calendars and get a head start on your holiday shopping.

Please vote for our school so we can earn $250 for our PTA. All you have to do is go to the Manhattan Village Mall Facebook site, look under contests and vote for Meadows!!! Please spread the word to all your family and friends.


And don't forget to bring your Manhattan Village receipts with you to the Scrip Table on Fridays. The Shopping for Students box will be on that table for your convenience.

One Warm Coat Drive - Ends November 2nd!
 Meadows Girl Scout, Brownie and Daisy Troops are at it again...helping the community! They are collecting clean and gently used jackets, sweatshirts, sweaters and coats of any size to donate to the needy through the One Warm Coat Organization. Please look through your closets and donate to this worthy cause. Donation bins are located in front of the office and near the Rowell side entry gate. We will be collecting until November 2nd. Thank you for your support!
Reflections time again!

Donate last year's Halloween costumes for Kids-in-Need.  Drop off your used costumes at the donation box outside the office.
Waste Management will donate costumes to an LA shelter.  For more information, see the flyer on the Meadows website.
