Apply for the 2015 Leadership Clinic!

We are now accepting applications for the 2015 Cenovus Energy Environmental Education Leadership Clinic! 


If your organization or school delivers on energy and/or environmental education,we encourage you to apply for this year's leadership clinic. This four day, fully funded professional development opportunity will explore the intersection between energy and the environment, imperatives of new curriculum directions, and increasing both environmental and energy literacy. You will have opportunities to explore what this means for your school or organizations's work and how you can enhance both areas in your program or practices. The deadline to apply is July 17th.

Coming Soon: Calgary's First Nature Kindergarten


 

There's a new kindergarten model brewing in Calgary, and it's one where parents don't mind if their kids come home dirty - they actually expect it.


 
It's called Nature Kindergarten, and a group of parents and educators are trying to bring the popular European learning model to the city of Calgary. The learner led program aims to get kids outdoors as much as possible, helping them learn curriculum lessons outside the classroom.

CWF Launches Wild Pedagogies

    

The Canadian Wildlife Federation is proud to be launching Wild Pedagogies. This one of a kind experiential learning program blends graduate level studies in education from top university professors Mary Breuing, Carrie Nowlan, Bob Henderson and Pat Maher with travel on the landscape. Each program is $1500, including food, programming and outfitting.

Wildlife Week is April 5-11, 2015

    

Wildlife Week in Canada is a week-long celebration of wildlife and habitat, honouring the work of the late Jack Miner and celebrated every year during the first full week of April.

Join us in beautiful Canmore this October for Earth Matters! The conference will explore the relationships between energy, environmental, and outdoor education - and their role in helping help create a sustainable future. 

Delegates will leave the conference with new tools and techniques, empowered to be an even more effective educator in this field. Our one day pre-conference summit will facilitate working together to collectively and positively impact new educational curriculum in Alberta and across Canada.

Joy in Nature Contest: Deadline to Apply is March 27th

 

 
Are you part of a group (school, youth group or club) of youth between the ages of 13-19? Do you live in Alberta? Share what your group has done to spend time in nature by submitting a description and photo, and you could win a trip a trip to Jasper to explore and learn for two full days! Applicants must be able to travel to Jasper in June 2015. The deadline to apply for the contest is March 27th.
