Community of Practice (CoP) membership is free and it allows you to connect with educators who share your passion.

From gardening to waste education, there is a CoP for everyone!

Join us April 24-26 in Canmore, Alberta, where we'll provide relevant workshops and help you develop your community of practice, with the help of keynotes Ziya Tong (Daily Planet co-host) and Gordon Stenhouse, Grizzly bear expert.

The first 100 registrants pay just $225 - which includes the meal package! Come and explore how the Earth Matters to you.

For more details, go to: http://abcee.org/conference/.

This conference is offered in partnership with the Global, Environmental and Outdoor Education Council (GEOEC) of Alberta Teacher's Association.

Thanks to Tervita for their generous support of the Earth Matters Conference.

Curriculum Development Prototyping  ACEE stock photo

Alberta Education's curriculum redesign has moved on to prototyping - the co-development of new curriculum for K-12. Alberta Education has sent out a Request for Proposals to school authorities to work with partners to co-create the new curriculum. Partners may include: post-secondary institutions, business and industry, non-profit and community organizations and others. You may have a role to play in supporting school authorities in developing excellent environmental education opportunities so feel free to connect with your local school board.

ACEE created the Environmental Education Framework to support the development of new cross-curricular, competency based curriculum. ACEE encourages all school authorities and their partners to use this resource as they develop new curriculum. The deadline for school authorities submissions is November 1st, 2013.

Contact  Gareth Thomson at ACEE if you have any ideas about this process.

Love Recycling? Find your Perfect Match!

LoveToRecycle.ca is a brand new website from the Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corporation that is helping organizations who want to recycle their beverage containers get matched with the many compatible recycling resources and services available in Alberta.

A key feature of the site allows visitors to search within a list of "Haulers" - organizations such as Depots, other businesses or charities - who offer beverage container pick up services. Users can also search from lists of bin/bag suppliers, gain access to information about grants and even use the online Impact Calculator to learn how recycling beverage containers helps the environment.
