ACEE is pleased to announce that our next Earth Matters conference will be held April 24-27, 2014 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Centre in Canmore, Alberta!  

 

 

In addition to two amazing keynote speakers: Daily Planet co-host Ziya Tong and Grizzly Bear Expert, Gord Stenhouse; there will be many amazing workshops, ample opportunities to connect with and learn from your colleagues, and much, much more!

The Centre for Environment-Economy Learning (CEEL) is offering Canada's energy literacy leaders, practitioners and advocates a unique opportunity to connect, share, learn and be inspired.

 

Energy Literacy Directions is a two-day community conference that will be taking place in Kananaskis from November 3-5, 2013.    

 

Search the Encana Environmental Education Resource Centre! There are over 500 resources listed from 120 different organizations across the province.

ACEE would like to thank the close to 100 people across Alberta who participated in the engagement sessions in Calgary and Edmonton in July, and provided input for the Champion Environmental Education work.

Over 25 individuals and organizations have already agreed to take action to become Champions for Environmental Education with others taking this back to their organizations for approval and to determine next steps.

CoP July Regional Meetings - A Great Success!       


ACEE hosted two Community of Practice regional meetings in July. It was an opportunity for environmental educators to gather and explore topics important to their region.

ACEE wants to hear from you! If you are a teacher or an environmental educator, and you or your organization have a great idea for an academic research project, please contact us with your ideas.  

 

Alternatively, if you are a post-secondary student and you are interested in making a direct and applied contribution to the field, please let us know!  We may be able to provide you with access to the ACEE staff, colleagues, students and teachers you need to get an answer to our 'good questions'.

UBC's Faculty of Education is accepting applications for a new MEd in Curriculum Studies program, with a focus on Ecojustice & Sustainability Education. The deadline for applications is September 30.

 

This program is offered in Vancouver, beginning January 2014. Because ecojustice addresses a diversity of possibilities for a green world, as well as just world, the program welcomes applicants from across disciplines.
