ACEE is pleased to announce that our next Earth Matters conference will be held April 24-27, 2014 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Centre in Canmore, Alberta!  

 

In addition to two amazing keynote speakers: Daily Planet co-host Ziya Tong and Grizzly Bear Expert, Gord Stenhouse; there will be many amazing workshops, ample opportunities to connect with and learn from your colleagues, and much much more!

ACEE would like to thank the close to 100 people across Alberta who participated in the engagement sessions in Calgary and Edmonton in July, and provided input for the Champion Environmental Education work.

Over 25 individuals and organizations have already agreed to take action to become Champions for Environmental Education with others taking this back to their organizations for approval and to determine next steps.

CoP July Regional Meetings - A Great Success!       


ACEE hosted two Community of Practice regional meetings in July. It was an opportunity for environmental educators to gather and explore topics important to their region.

The Centre for Environment-Economy Learning (CEEL) is offering Canada's energy literacy leaders, practitioners and advocates a unique opportunity to connect, share, learn and be inspired.

 

Energy Literacy Directions is a two-day community conference that will be taking place in Kananaskis from November 3-5, 2013.    

 

Waterlution - Water Innovation Lab   

 
Waterlution events are always exciting, unique experiences! There is still space in their upcoming Water Innovation Lab (WIL) in Kananaskis. If you are between 18-35, don't miss this opportunity!

WIL 2013 is a learning space designed to give participants the chance to:
  • Bootcamp an innovative idea with the chance of moving it into reality
  • Develop deeper and more nuanced understanding of water issues
  • Learn from thought leaders who were in your shoes on how to channel your enthusiasm
  • Explore new ways to develop human-centric water projects
  • Acquire the tools and insights to more meaningfully engage with others
  • Build a broad-based network of people with diverse backgrounds

Kananaskis Country urgently needs more volunteers for this week's trail rebuilding projects.

  • Project 1: Wednesday August 21 to Friday Aug 23. Reconstruction of the Jewel Pass trail.
  • Project 2: Tuesday Aug 20 to Thursday Aug 22. Continued re-building of the Fox Creek trail in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park.  

Come for 1 day, all 3, or any number in-between.
