Help Ensure that Environmental Education is in Future Alberta Curriculum - Learn, Collaborate, and Act
ACEE is inviting teachers, school administrators, environmental educators, corporate social responsibility professionals and other interested stakeholders to participate in a community engagement session to:
- Learn of the work that has been done to date on curriculum redesign
- Collaborate on providing input for future direction
- Act by sharing your thoughts on the importance of environmental education in future curriculum
When: April 25th, 12:00pm - 4:30 Prior to the Earth Matters Conference
Where: Radisson Hotel, Canmore
Cost: Free, lunch will be provided

The Classroom Energy Diet Challenge is back and better than ever! Students across Canada have taken the Challenge to increase their energy awareness, and to share their knowledge with the country. Located a Sylvan Lake, this outdoor school works with teachers and leaders to create a retreat experience that meets the goals of your group and the outcomes of curriculum.

Create and Grow an Edible Schoolyard (Edmonton) - The workshop will cover best practices and the steps for creating an edible schoolyard or a food garden and how to receive funding from Evergreen. Two Wheel View is looking for Alberta youth ages 14-17 to participate in a life changing travel experience. Join them this summer for a two week cycling expedition in Argentina or Norway. Funding for Youth Projects in Calgary
The Jack Leslie Youth Environment Grant recognizes the positive impact Jack Leslie, former Mayor of Calgary, had on the city and the environment, and is awarded to those youth in Calgary who demonstrate that they are continuing his efforts. Projects must include the following:
- Be located in Calgary
- Directly benefit the environment in Calgary
- Be planned and implemented by youth
Projects could receive funding of up to $1000. The Jack Leslie Youth Environmental Grant is now accepting applications. The deadline is April 12, 2013. View the application here.
