Launched! Water Education Community of Practice

November 21 saw 19 hearty souls brave the snowy weather in Red Deer to launch the Water Education Community of Practice.

In the words of one participant: "The CoP was a smashing hit yesterday - you've done an excellent job of getting everyone together!"

Participants embraced the CoP concept and supported the creation of a vision for the CoP, a listing of water education organizations and resources, and many other exciting outcomes that will advance water education in Alberta.  A full listing of what we heard at the launch will be posted here: www.abcee.org/cop/water.

We'll be holding regional face to face meetings too - stay tuned!

5th Annual Cenovus Energy Environmental Education Leadership Clinic was a Success!

Eight teams gathered near Caroline to work on developing plans to move learners to action!

"I think the best part of the Clinic was that it gave us a real opportunity to do meaningful work on our project that we had chosen and to spend the time to get a head start on planning our campaign."

- Lauren Minuk, Green Calgary

"The Clinic afforded our team the opportunity to really "dig deep" into the plan we are developing. I found the facilitation offered very valuable.

- Ryszard Kozlowski, City of Red Deer

"We were able to take a glimmer of an idea and develop a workable plan.  The facilitation was also key to our success. Having the opportunity to talk our plan through with the other attendees and the staff from ACEE allowed us to move through the sticky parts and helped us consider our ideas from many different angles. Definitely time well-spent!

- Leslie Waite, Prairie Waters Elementary School
