Launch Event! Water Education Community of Practice
We've identified the following desired outcomes for our meeting on Wednesday November 21 in Red Deer:
- Establish new and foster existing relationships with your Water Education peers.
- Learn about our various organizations, what they do, where they operate and what is (and is not) being done in water education in Alberta.
- Identify barriers to your work and come up with bridges over those barriers.
- Agree on next steps for the community, and your role within it.
- Participate in creating a vision and plan for your Community of Practice.
There is money available for transportation if you are interested in carpooling.

Coordinators Needed for Next Three Communities of Practice
The Alberta Council for Environmental Education is seeking three people with excellent facilitation skills and experience in environmental education for a one year commitment. There are coordinator positions available for the following three Communities of Practice:
- Outdoor Education - includes education about outdoor skills, healthy outdoor lifestyles, children and nature, sensory activities, camp experiences, nature centres, etc.
- Land Use and Conservation Education - includes education about parks, biodiversity, wildlife, agriculture, forestry, etc.
- Waste Education - includes education about recycling and the 3Rs, composting, consumerism etc.
This is an excellent professional development opportunity and an honorarium is provided for your work. If you are interested, please read the full job description.The deadline for applications is November 16.

Wolverine Watch Citizen Science
Wolverine Watch is a citizen-science based approach to: contribute information on wolverine in the Canadian Rockies, increase awareness regarding their status, and recruit volunteers to assist with a large-scale wolverine survey during winter 2010-2011 and 2012-2013.
