On a recent incredibly inspiring TED talk, the Prime Minister of Albania told we mortals: "we have enough gray in the world. It is time for a change!"

 He then showed pictures of the Albanian City, Tirana, before his vision of  "change".  A city of gray, crumbling concrete, unsafe structures, lifeless and tenuous inhabitants.  A city that looked like an industrial nightmare in the time of Dickens. A city with a $0 budget to change anything. A city bereft of pride, hope, and trust in a future.

So what happened? The then Mayor and now Prime Minister ordered paint, cases and cases of paint, striking, jolting, sunbursts of color. The prevalent gray mentality of city officials said "oh no, this is just not done! There is no money for this!"... and he said:  "oh yes, we are doing it!"


Next, skylines changed through a renaissance of color, a daring palette of colors, then the old concrete rubble started to disappear by the truck load. Next trees by the thousands appeared.  People changed. Crime levels changed. The emotional climate of an entire city changed and it all started with buckets of paint for which there was supposedly no city budget!

 A momentum of hope and creativity carried the tide!

So, here is what I suggest as your "prep" for the most outrageous season of change: Spring, when you have the ultimate opportunity to come alive!

1) Watch the TED talk given by this wonderful man because you will feel the power of optimism and the power of doing one something
that can ignite the energy of color, the energy of "yes" in all of us for changing all the gray areas of our personal lives and community lives.

2) Read Chapter 8, "My Mother Was Never Afraid of Color", in my book.  It is timely and personal to your life.

3)  Don't miss the treasure of the Practical Mystic (scroll down).

4)  Find some outrageously wonderful color of paint at your paint store, find something gray in your life, in your neighborhood, and get going!  (I once bought a brilliantly rich paprika color just because I could not not have it in my life).

Now I know just how important it is to share color and change the landscapes of our hearts!

5)  Know that you have now raised the frequency of your life, the vibration of your imprint on the planet just by imagining the change!
