Celtic Cross Available
A large (16 feet high) Celtic cross from the former Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in Port Arthur is available for removal. For more information, contact Mike Cole at mcole@pbyofnewcovenant.org.
Free Abuse Prevention Hotline
Keeping children safe is a top priority. PC(USA), working with Insurance Board and Praesidium, the national leader in abuse prevention, is offering this Helpline, which can be used by anyone affiliated with the church, to all PC(USA) churches.
Free Abuse Prevention Helpline 866-607-SAFE (7233)
Receive expert advice on how to best respond to suspicious behaviors and/or suspected abuse. Also receive guidance on prevention methods as well as:
  • What to do about suspicious interactions;
  • How to respond to an allegation of abuse;
  • When and how to report to authorities;
  • Identifying risks in programs;
  • Screening employees and volunteers;
  • And more.
  • Bookcases Wanted
    Books
    Katy, New Hope PC is setting up a church library and needs new or gently used bookcases at no cost. If you have bookcases you would like to donate please call the church office at 281-492-8520.

    Peruvian Dinner and Silent Auction - July 9
    Webster PC (WPC) is inviting everyone for a Peruvian Dinner and Silent Auction this Sat., July 9 at 6 p.m. Entertainment includes photos with Llarry the Llama, music, show and tell about Ayaviri, and a speaker who'll talk about why New Covenant does global missions and how Peru and WPC fit into the overall vision. The event is free and all funds raised will go towards supporting our work with our brothers and sisters in Peru. WPC is located at 201 W Nasa Road One, Webster TX 77598.
    Healthy Boundaries Training - July 19
    Healthy Boundaries will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tues., July 19 at The Woodlands Community PC (4881 W Panther Creek Dr, The Woodlands, TX 77381). Please RSVP to Patricia Brantley at pbrantley@pbyofnewcovenant.org and include whether you would like lunch provided (bring $10) or will supply your own. Those required to have this training once every five years include all ordained clergy-members of this presbytery, christian educators, youth workers, commissioned ruling elders, and candidates under care. 
    PW Horizons Bible Study Overview - July 29
    Who Is Jesus_
    Mary Marcotte will present an overview of the Presbyterian Women's 2016-2017 Horizon's Bible Study, "Who Is Jesus? What a Difference a Lens Makes." The first FREE overview is Fri., July 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Pasadena, First PC (4647 Preston Rd, Pasadena TX 77505).     Weekday Ministries Conference - Aug. 2-4
    This popular three-day conference provides continuing education opportunity for teachers and directors in church-related weekday early childhood programs and will enhance their abilities to nurture and educate the children entrusted to their care. This year's conference is Aug. 2-4 at the Marriott Houston Westchase at 2900 Briarpark Dr, Houston, TX 77042. Registration ends July 8 and the cost is $70 per day/per person.
