Montrose Street Reach Ministry
Every Wednesday evening, the Montrose Street Reach Ministry and volunteers seek to instill Christian values and give practical assistance to s treet kids and older homeless. This outreach occurs in the Presbytery of New Covenant parking lot at 1110 Lovett Blvd, Houston, TX 77006. PC(USA) Planning Calendars are Available
This 19-month calendar contains many planning aids for pastors and other church leaders, including lectionary for Sundays and special days, liturgical days, liturgical colors, resource information for PC(USA) programmatic emphases, updated synod, presbytery and Presbyterian Mission Agency staff directories, and color foldout synod/presbytery and world maps. General Assembly - June 18-25
Commissioners and advisory delegates from all 171 PC(USA) presbyteries, along with other participants and observers from around the world, will converge on the Oregon Convention Center (OCC) in downtown Portland for celebrations, deliberations, and inspirations in support of the denomination's biennial gathering. Hosted by the Presbytery of the Cascades and united under the theme "The Hope in Our Calling" from Ephesians 1:18, the General Assembly will include rich worship services, the election of the Moderator, action on a plethora of overtures, and much more. Art. Recreation. Theology. at Mo-Ranch (ART@MO) is a relaxing and inspiring time to create art with a community of fellow artists while experiencing fellowship, recreation, worship, and renewal. Mornings are spent in class and the afternoon is open for working on projects, learning new skills through mini-classes, or simply enjoying beautiful Mo-Ranch. TUNE UP Worship Band Gathering - Aug. 20
You and your church musicians are invited to the 4th annual TUNE UP worship band gathering on Sat., Aug. 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church at 4600 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX 77401. This event is an opportunity for contemporary worship musicians to learn and grow with specific learning tracks for worship leaders, pastors, vocalists, guitarists, keyboardists, percussionists, sound techs, and video techs. There also be sessions on worship design, live streaming of worship, music theory, and electric guitar for the non-guitarist. The cost is $25 per person or $150 per church with lunch included. Presbytery of New Covenant youth and advisors - Forty-eight people from six churches are on the youth mission trip to New Orleans this week.
General Assembly commissioners and attendees - We pray for travel mercies and prayerful discernment.
J.D. Houlihan (son of Cindy Houlihan, Office Manager at Houston, Pines) - J.D. is waiting to regain access to his property and belongings that under water in Simonton, TX.
Flooding Victims - We pray for those recovering from flooding and for waiting insurance adjustments.
Friends and Family of Doracas Taylor Battise Bullock (Livingston, Indian) - Dorcas died on June 7. She was an ordained deacon and a tribal member of the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas.
