Lauren Fiske Selected as Young Adult Volunteer
Congratulations to Lauren Fiske of Clear Lake Presbyterian for being selected by the Presbyterian Mission Agency to serve as a Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) on behalf of the PC(USA). She will be serving in Korea during the upcoming YAV year (August '16 - July '17.) The YAV program offers opportunities in Christian service and learning for young adults (19 to 30 years of age) in seventeen sites within the United States and five sites around the world.

Bus Option for July Presbytery Meeting in Orange, Texas
The next stated presbytery meeting is July 19 in Orange, Texas. If you might be interested in riding a bus with other people from presbytery to the meeting, please let Lynn Hargrove know as soon as possible so she can coordinate pick-up locations and number of buses. Houston Masterworks Choral Concert - May 15
The Masterworks Choir, with Conductor Tom Jaber, will offer a Pre-Italy Tour concert presentation of the repertoire they will be singing in the Vatican and in Florence this summer. The concert is Sun., May 15 at 3 p.m. at Houston, St. John's (5020 West Bellfort, Houston, TX 77035). www.houstonmasterworks.org.

Free Immunization Clinic - May 17
Houston, St. Thomas will be hosting a free immunization clinic for children from newborns through 18 years old on Tues., May 17 from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. The child must be "Texas Vaccine for Children" eligible (have Medicaid, CHIP, no insurance, or with insurance that does not cover vaccines). The church is located at 14100 Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77079.

The next training will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thurs., May 19 at Bellaire, ChristChurch (5001 Bellaire Blvd, Bellaire, TX 77401). Please plan to arrive by 8:45 a.m. for registration and a light breakfast. Lay Minister Training - May 21
POP (Prayers of the People) will be offering lay minister training on Sat., May 21 at Houston, First (5300 Main St, Houston, TX 77004). Training is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is free and includes lunch, training materials, and the book, Spiritual Disciplines Handbook: Practices that Transform Us by Adele Ahlberg Calhoun. Friends and Family of Rev. James Lee - Moderator of Mission Presbytery and pastor of New Covenant Fellowship in Austin - James died on May 6. He was a seminary intern at Houston, Pinecrest in 1997 and had many close ties in our presbytery.
