In Our Prayers

Friends and Family of Rev. Rob Coffman - Brother of Rev. Stewart Coffman, General Presbyter Emeritus of Presbytery of New Covenant - Rob died on Jan. 27.  He was a retired minister of Chicago Presbytery.

Rev. Hien Nguyen - Love Vietnamese Community (NWC) - Hien is traveling to Vietnam to be with his mother who is very ill.
 
Friends and Family of Becky Coe - First Presbyterian, Bay City - Wife of Ruling Elder Jim Coe - Becky died on Feb. 20. 

Rev. Scott Harbison - St. Luke's, Houston - Scott has been sick for more than ten days and has been admitted to the hospital. 

Friends and Family of Debbi Kilgore - Sister-in-law of Mary Marcotte, Associate General Presbyter - Debbi died on Feb. 29.

Soup Suppers and Worship - Mar. 2
Faith Presbyterian (3900 N Main, Baytown) is holding Wednesday night Soup Suppers from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. followed by an evening service at 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday through Mar. 16.  
Science and Christianity Lecture - Mar. 3
Religion and Public Mental Health
The Religion and Public Life Program at Rice University and St. Andrew's (Houston) are sponsoring a conversation about resources and best practices for addressing mental health. Dr. Warren Kinghorn and Pastor Juanita Rasmus will speak about their experiences as researcher and pastor, respectively. Kinghorn is Assoc. Research Professor of Psychiatry and Pastoral and Moral Theology at Duke Divinity School and Staff Psychiatrist at Durham VA Medical Center. Rasmus is Senior Pastor at St. John's Downtown Church, Houston. This event will be held on Thurs., Mar. 3 at 7 p.m. in the Warren Family Center at St. Andrew's (5308 Buffalo Speedway, Houston).  For more information, click here.
First Presbyterian, Brazoria Celebrations - Mar. 12
The First Presbyterian Church of Brazoria invites you to celebrate the 100th anniversary of their sanctuary and the retirement of their pastor, The Rev. Dr. Debbie Measells, after 30 years of service, at 10:30 a.m. on Sat., Mar. 12 at 310 S. Virginia Street, Brazoria, Texas.  Lunch will be served following the service.  RSVP to Ginny Raska at 979-798-1628.
Healthy Boundaries - Mar. 17 and Apr. 12
Healthy Boundaries will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thurs., Mar. 17 at The Presbytery Center (1110 Lovett Blvd, Houston, TX 77006) and again on Tues., Apr. 12 at First Presbyterian (2216 Ave. H, Bay City, TX 77414). Please plan to arrive by 8:45 a.m. for registration and a light breakfast. Class will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. Please RSVP to Patricia Brantley at brantley@pbyofnewcovenant.org and include whether you would like lunch provided (bring $10) or will supply your own and specify which date/location. Contact Helen DeLeon with questions at 281-415-5855.  There will be three additional offerings through July for this pastor-required training.
