Family and friends of RE Charles "Chuck" Everett, St. Andrew's Presbyterian, Houston - Chuck died Nov. 26. A memorial service will be held Mon., Dec. 14, 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew's, 5308 Buffalo Speedway.
 
Candidate Kay Atchison, Memorial Drive PC - Kay's mother died Nov. 29, at age 96.
 
Proud grandmother RE Anna Marion and family - King Royce Kotchavar was born Nov. 24. Anna serves as worship leader for St. Luke's Presbyterian, Cleveland, and as the facilitator for the discernment team at Waverly.

Fire at Westminster Presbyterian, Galveston 
The sanctuary building of Westminster Presbyterian, Galveston caught fire Wed., Dec. 2. It was an arson fire in the foyer of the sanctuary building. No one was injured, but the sanctuary sustained significant damage. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance was on site over the weekend to help them with the next steps.  

Members of the local ministerial alliance have offered assistance, including the local rabbi who offered the use of the synagogue for Christmas Eve services. If you wish to communicate with Westminster's pastor, TE Melissa Krabbe, here is her email. The church is located at 5127 Avenue U, Galveston, TX  77551-9141, if you wish to send cards or notes of encouragement.

Additional neighborhood parking will be available on Kroger's back parking lot, facing Yoakum. Do not park in the lot behind Half Price Books. Street parking is limited because of neighborhood construction.
Live Nativity
St. Luke's Presbyterian, Houston, is once again sharing a Live Nativity with the community. They view this as an opportunity to share this special evening with their neighbors. You are invited to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the season and return to the manger. Re-enactments will take place at 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. tomorrow evening, Dec. 9. Refreshments will be ready for you when you arrive!

Faith Presbyterian hosts new counseling ministry
Faith Presbyterian, Baytown, now offers its neighbors an additional service in the form of onsite professional counseling. Every Thursday afternoon, a licensed therapist from Interface-Samaritan Counseling Centers in Houston is available to talk to anyone struggling with grief, anxiety, a mental-illness diagnosis, or similar life challenges.
