Christmas Open House: 'Soul Food and Blues'
All is being made ready for you! Come to the Presbytery Christmas Open House Thurs., Dec. 10, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and enjoy conversations with old and new friends, lots of wonderful food, and the joy of the Christmas season! Everyone is invited to this special get-together at 1110 Lovett Blvd.

Parking alert for Christmas Open House!
Parking may be more difficult this year because of the number of additional cars in the neighborhood due to the many construction workers in the area. In addition to the parking lot behind the Presbytery Center, we have secured permission to use the parking lot behind Kroger's (facing Lovett Blvd.). All area street parking is okay. Our request to use the parking lot behind Half Price Books has been denied. However, parking in that lot on the side of Lovett Blvd. is permitted - just NOT DIRECTLY BEHIND HALF PRICE BOOKS.
Dr. Greg Cootsona
Science and Christianity Lecture
Dr Gregory Cootsona, theologian and writer about the science and faith nexus, will give an evening lecture Sat., Dec. 5, 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary of St. Andrew's Presbyterian, Houston. He will talk about his most recent project, Science for Students and Emerging Young Adults, which looks at the attitudes of 18-30 year-olds on faith and science. Dr Cootsona will show how emerging adults are shaping a future that moves toward an exciting and challenging interaction between science and the Christian faith.  Flyer

Dr Cootsona teaches Comparative Religion and Humanities at Chico State University, CA. He also co-directed the Scientists in Congregations project, which funded congregations (including St. Andrew's) to catalyze the interaction of science and faith.
Midweek Advent Worship
St. Philip Presbyterian Church, Houston, is offering Advent services at 12 noon on Wednesdays, Dec. 2, 9, and 16. The thirty minute services include the songs and texts of Advent, along with communion. A simple lunch is available afterwards. Everyone is welcome for this midday, midweek time of reflection and nourishment.
Lost and found!
Several umbrellas and a woman's belt were left behind at the presbytery meeting at St. John's Presbyterian.

If you lost one of these items, contact Patricia Brantley (713-526-2585) at the presbytery to describe the lost item. We will hold the item for you. A great time to pick it up might be the Christmas Open House on Thurs., Dec. 10!
Mark your calendars now!
