Presbyterians are reaching out
Recently we have been confronted with visible images of what is at stake in the migrations of Syrian refugees. Presbyterian Disaster Assistance is responding to this crisis, working to provide support and refuge to those in need. Should your financial blessings allow you to share your financial blessing to help with the needs of the migrants, you may send a gift to International Refugee through your local Presbyterian congregation, online, or by mailing a check to: Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), P.O. Box 643700, Pittsburgh, PA 15264-3700. Designate your gift to DROOO156 - International Refugee Program.     Prayer for the Syrian refugees
Youth Rally!
Make plans now to attend this year's Youth Rally on Sun., Oct. 18, at Spring Branch Presbyterian, Houston. Worship at 10:45 a.m. - followed by lunch, games and a hands-on mission project! Here's an opportunity for youth groups in our presbytery to come together. Middle and High School youth and their adult sponsors are invited. No charge!
Available: piano and organ
St. Luke's Presbyterian, Houston, has a Baldwin upright piano and a Lowrey electronic organ available free of charge. The piano is in good condition with a couple of minor repairs needed to be made by a piano technician - one non-playing key and the sustain pedal. The organ, also older, has been virtually unused. It is in good condition, just no longer needed at St. Luke's. Both instruments are free on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are interested or would like more information, contact  Mary Ann White (713-667-6531).
What is going on in educational ministry across our synod?
Check out some of the great resources and ideas highlighted in the newsletter of the South Central Region of the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators (SCRAPCE). In partnership with SCRAPCE, Austin Presbyterian Seminary is offering a workshop focusing on the critical role played by hospitality and relationships, "Hospitality: Where It All Begins," Oct. 19-21 at the seminary.    Information and Registration

Childcare will be provided during conference events. For more information, contact Caressa Murray or visit this website.
