Attention Clerks of Session!
There will be a Session Records Review at First Presbyterian, Lufkin, Sat., Sept. 19, at 10:30 a.m. followed by a regional visioning conversation with Shelley Hernandez and Lynn Hargrove. That discussion will begin at 12:15 p.m.
Please pre-register with Stated Clerk Lynn Hargrove (713-526-2585, ext. 210) if you plan to attend the Session Records Review. Bring all session minutes since those last reviewed, including a copy of the page bearing the stamp indicating the last review, your Minutes Check Sheet, and your Church Register.

The Fossil Fuel Planning Team invites you to a Symposium that will address climate change and alternatives to divestment from fossil fuel Fri. Oct. 2, beginning at 2:00 p.m. and ending Sat., Oct. 3, at 3:00 p.m., at Memorial Drive Presbyterian, Houston. This promises to be an excellent opportunity for those concerned both for the environment and corporations to gather with a positive focus. Dr. Katherine Hayhoe and Marshall Saunders, known for their work on climate change, will keynote the Symposium. There will be 6 breakout sessions.

Vision Team Regional Conversations - Second Round
The Vision Team has listened to you, and now they want to be sure they heard you correctly. Conversations already scheduled for September:
Sat., Sept. 19, 12:15 p.m. at First Presbyterian Lufkin, 12:15 p.m. - especially for those in the far NW of the presbytery (Nacogdoches, Lufkin, Livingston, Jasper, Trawick, Cleveland, Trinity).
Sat., Sept. 26, 10:00 a.m. at Clear Lake Presbyterian, Houston - especially for those in the far SE of the presbytery (Baytown, Dickinson, LaPorte, Webster, Texas City and beyond).
Sun., Sept. 27, 2:30 p.m. at St. Stephen Presbyterian, Houston - especially for those in the near SE of the presbytery (Servant Savior, Pasadena, Pearland, San Pablo+Trinity, Pinecrest and beyond).
More dates and locations will be announced. Please try to attend a gathering, even if you did not attend in the first round! Concerts on Carter Creek
You are invited to attend the first program in the 2015-2016 series of "Concerts on Carter Creek" by First Presbyterian, Bryan, Sun., Sept. 20, 7:00 p.m., in the church's Fellowship Hall. The free concert by Big Apple Trio will be a toe-tapping performance of music from the 40s, 50s, and 60s with a healthy dose of jazz. Dinner at 6:00 p.m. (reservations are required - contact church office, 979-823-8073).

St. Andrew's Presbyterian, Houston, invites you to the next Coffee House Live Thurs., Sept. 24, at 7:30 p.m. Coffee House Live is a music outreach of the church - a fun evening fellowship, open to everyone and with no cover charge. The artist will be Grammy-nominated guitarist, singer, and songwriter Bill Kirchen. He celebrates an American musical tradition where rock 'n' roll and country music draws upon its origins in blues and bluegrass, Western swing from Texas and California honky-tonk. Bill Kirchen is a musical treasure, a fantastic player, and in these roots-conscious times, very much a pioneer.
