Presbyterian Disaster Assistance responds to massive flooding
One Great Hour of Sharing funds have been sent to New Covenant Presbytery. Four members of the National Response Team (NRT) are in Houston, helping Presbyterian leadership in responding to needs within the presbytery. PDA has set up an account for receiving contributions to assist in recovery from the recent floods. The fund: DR000191-U.S. Flooding.

If congregations wish to receive a special offering and send it directly to an affected congregation or to the presbytery to apply as needed, that would also be fine.
Next Connections copy deadline

2015-2016 Horizons Bible Study for Presbyterian Women
Presbyterian Women of New Covenant Presbytery invites you to an overview of the 2015-2016 Horizon's Bible Study, "Come to the Waters," during the month of August. You pick the date and location that is best for you. Pre-registration is requested one week prior to the event.
Schedule of overviews

In the 9 lessons of the study, water plays a central role in the stories of scripture, from the chaotic waters of Creation to the River of Life in Revelation. The rich imagery of water throughout the Bible helps us understand and articulate our faith. Just as water nourishes our bodies, so these passages on water nourish our souls. The study was written by Judy Fletcher, former moderator of Synod of the Sun.
