Sunday is the Day of Pentecost On the Day of Pentecost, Sun., May 24, we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit descending in a mighty rush of wind and flame to inspire the church's proclamation of Christ's rising and to empower its mission and ministry to the world.
The notion of Easter as a season of 50 days ending at Pentecost is patterned after the ancient Jewish festival of seven weeks that extended from the beginning of the barley harvest to the end of the wheat harvest at the Festival of Weeks, which came to be called Pentecost, the 50th day.

Offices closed The Presbytery Center will be closed in honor of Memorial Day on Mon., July 25, as we honor all those who serve and have served.
|
Center's computers and phones unavailable If you try to contact anyone at the presbytery offices Fri., May 22, you may find that you are unable to do so. Both computers and telephones will not be operative, particularly in the morning, because of electrical work being done at the Center.

Resources available at your fingertips Both "Building Faith" on Facebook and buildfaith.org contain thoughtful pieces about faith-forming activities. This is a project of Virginia Theological Seminary's Center for Teaching, an Episcopal seminary. While a recent post on sacramental education for a child with special needs reveals some theological difference (the author was Roman Catholic) the sensitivity to learning needs could be readily adapted to our Presbyterian and Reformed table theology. Take a look!
