Family and friends of Laura Clary, Drake Presbyterian, Orange - Laura, a founding member of the church, died Feb. 23, at age 93.

TE Cyndi Wunder - Cyndi will be installed Sun., Mar. 15, at 5:00 p.m. as pastor at First Presbyterian, Jasper.

Presbytery Meeting information
The next meeting of New Covenant Presbytery will be
Sat., Mar. 21, 9:00 a.m. at St. Philip Presbyterian, Houston
. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Online registration will close Fri., Mar. 20, at 12 noon. Online payment for lunch is not possible; please pay at the meeting.   Online registration  

The Packet of information for the meeting can also be accessed on the homepage of the Presbytery's website. Commissioners to the meeting are asked to have access to the information in the Packet during the meeting, either online or printed.

Those attending the meeting are requested to carpool, if possible, so that parking space at the church is adequate.

A special opportunity after lunch
You are invited to learn about "Growing in Grace and Gratitude," the new Presbyterian curriculum for children (preschool through 5th grade), at a special workshop to be held after lunch at the presbytery meeting. The preview of this curriculum offers an opportunity to see sample materials and consider what constitutes curriculum that is age-appropriate in content and learning activities. Two don't-miss programs at the Presbytery Center 
The Presbyterian Historical Society will offer two special opportunities Fri., Mar. 20 at the Presbytery Center. From 1:30-3:00 p.m. David Staniunas, Records Archivist, will lead a workshop on preserving historical records, "Records and Archives in the Digital Age." 


From 4:00-5:30 p.m. Gradye Parsons, Stated Clerk of the PC(USA) will speak. His talk, "Back to the Future," will offer insights and perspective on our denomination. Gradye will also preach during worship at the presbytery meeting.

General Presbyter Mike Cole is in contact with some Muslim leaders in Houston about beginning a dialogue between Muslim and Presbyterian leaders on issues of faith, theology, common concerns, and mutual understanding and respect. If you are interested in participating in an initial meeting, please contact Mike.
Fish Fry in Wharton
First Presbyterian, Wharton, invites you to its annual Fish Fry on Fri., Mar. 27, 5:00-7:00 p.m. Dine-in (all you can eat) or Take-out. Menu: fried fish fillets, French fries, hushpuppies, pinto beans, coleslaw, tartar sauce, ketchup, iced tea, and dessert. Tickets are $10.
2nd Annual Peace for Pearland Golf Tournament
Mark your calendars now for Fri., Apr. 24 for the second annual golf tournament at Southwyck Golf Club (2901 Clubhouse Drive, Pearland, TX 77584) hosted by Peace Presbyterian, Pearland, with a 1:30 p.m. Shot Gun Start, Four Man Scramble. Houston Texans football player, Jared Crick, will be at the tournament. There will be a raffle to win the chance to play with him on the course! Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Peace Presbyterian and Christian Helping Hands. Sponsorships and golfer registration are available now. Decoding the Millennial Generation
The Millennial Generation (b.1980-2000), the largest generation in American history, is beginning to come of age. Soon they'll be leading companies, churches, and the government. They're also, as it happens, the most unchurched generation in American history. What does this mean for the future of our culture, and of the church?

A class for parents who have adult children or those who wish to learn more about young adults are invited to a discussion-oriented class that will meet Wednesdays, May 6 and May 13, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Memorial Drive Presbyterian, Houston, in the Summit Room (first floor near Fellowship Hall). TE Brandon Gaide, Associate Pastor of Next Generation Ministries, will lead the class. 
Childcare reservation 
Crossing the Borders
Austin Seminary will be hosting the workshop, Crossing the Borders, Sat., Mar. 14, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. at San Mateo Episcopal Church, 6635 Alder Dr., Houston, TX 77081. The day will focus on pastoral responses to violence in private space (the home) and in public space (the cities). It qualifies for 1 Continuing Education Credit for attendees.
