Faithwalking for pastors Pastors spend all their waking hours and perhaps some of their sleeping ones working with and on behalf of their parishioners in the hope of helping them go deep into their spiritual lives. Sometimes, though, they need to take a brief 'time out' to renew and restore their own faith lives.

The Professional Life Subcommittee on Ministry is pleased to present such an opportunity Tues., Apr. 28, 2:30 p.m. to Thurs., Apr. 30, 12:30 p.m. at the Cenacle Retreat Center, 420 N. Kirkwood Dr., Houston. Faithwalking is an overnight retreat for pastors that follows a rhythm of hearing presentations on missional living, spending time in solitude, and sharing experiences in a small group setting. Video series featuring Mark Achtemeier
Dr. Mark Achtemeier
A video resource, Same-Sex Marriage and the Bible, featuring Dr. Mark Achtemeier is now available. Each of the 4 videos is accompanied by discussion questions that could be used for Sunday School classes or other educational forums. There is a copy of the DVD in the Resource Center (soon to be ready for check out). Mark's study of the Scriptures led him away from his initial opposition to marriage for committed same-sex couples toward wholehearted support of marriage equality. Mark has served the denomination as pastor, writer, speaker, and theology professor.    Video resource
