World Communion Sunday - Oct. 5
This year the General Assembly sends to the presbyteries the approval of the Belhar Confession. With so much strife and conflict in the world, worship planning groups might consider including a portion of this confession in the worship service for World Communion Sunday.
The Presbytery of New Covenant will be voting to approve the inclusion of the Belhar Confession into our Book of Confessions at the Nov. 15 presbytery meeting at Indian Presbyterian, Livingston. More information will be available in the coming weeks. Full text of the Confession |
234th District Court grants temporary injunction against the Presbytery
In direct response to a question from the Court, the Presbytery of New Covenant conceded that it had no intention of taking any actions against First Presbyterian Church, Houston. Later, and without disclosing his reasons (which state court judges are not obliged to provide), the Court granted FPC's application for temporary injunction. Temporary Injunction
The case is set for trial in March 2015. We will continue to update you on all material developments in the case on a privileged basis, meaning that all communications should be discussed only with other Presbytery members and should not be disclosed to any third parties.
