Discipleship Thoughts
When he said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy burdened," Jesus assumed we would grow weary, discouraged, and disheartened along the way. These words are a touching testimony to the genuine humanness of Jesus. He had no romantic notion of the cost of discipleship. He knew that following Him was as unsentimental as duty, as demanding as love.

The Synod of the Sun will present a Mission Convocation in Irving, TX. Nov. 8. What is a Mission Convocation? It is more than a mission fair; it is an opportunity to network, dream, and build new or expanded mission initiatives. In addition to presentations and workshops, the convocation will enable us to engage one another with our own gifts and passions for mission through a process known as asset mapping.   Details

Engaging the Religiously Unaffiliated

A growing number of people in the U.S. resist identifying themselves with a particular religious tradition. They are not atheists. They are not apathetic. They often describe themselves as people who are seeking to know God. Take part in "More than None" Oct. 13-16 at Montreat Camp & Conference Center in North Carolina and explore what it might look like to fellowship with those who seek God outside the walls of the institutional church. Learn more...
