 | Discipleship Thoughts |
Most people in America, when they are exposed to the Christian faith, are not being transformed. They take one step into the door and the journey ends. They are not being allowed, encouraged, or equipped to love or to think like Christ. Yet in many ways a focus on spiritual formation fits what a new generation is really seeking. Transformation is a process, a journey, not a one-time decision.

It's what you don't know...
You probably know that Board of Pensions dues will increase Jan. 1, 2015. You may also know that all plan members may qualify for a reduced deductible if they participate in Call to Health. But did you know that specific Session action is required if a congregation withholds any part of an employee's salary to cover the costs for medical dues for dependent care coverage? And did you know that specific documents need to be kept on file if a Session asks its employee(s) to pay for dependent care costs?
To know more, plan to attend a concise break-out during lunch at Saturday's presbytery meeting. Rev. Kevin Keaton, Regional Representative for the Board of Pensions, will make a brief presentation, answer questions, and have available sample policies for congregational leaders to use to establish a Medical Dues Only Section 125 Plan.
