 | Discipleship Thoughts |
As brother stands by brother in distress, binding up his wounds and soothing his pain, so let us show our love towards our enemy. There is no deeper distress to be found in the world, no pain more bitter than our enemy's. Nowhere is service more necessary or more blessed than when we serve our enemies.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Investing in our greatest resource
Giving to the Pentecost Offering makes it possible for the church to encourage, develop, and support its young people and address the needs of at-risk children. A large portion of this offering can be retained by individual congregations wanting to make an impact in the lives of young people within their own community. The Pentecost Offering, which will be received in churches Sun., June 8, will help support Young Adult Volunteers, Ministries for Youth, and Child Advocacy.

Know someone going to U. of Arizona?
Presbyterian Campus Ministry at The University of Arizona would like to connect with any New Covenant students who will attend the university this fall. You can help this effort by emailing the names and contacts of any incoming students you know. Or you may ask them to fill out this online survey. What's coming to the 2014 General Assembly?
What issues will be capturing the headlines during and after the 221st General Assembly in Detroit (June 14-21)? In a webinar on Thurs., May 29, at 1:00 p.m. CT (on-demand replay also available), Jack Haberer, editor of the Presbyterian Outlook, will provide a measured, non-anxious summary of the major topics and the key proposals to be considered by the commissioners and delegates to the GA.
By participating in this webinar, you will gain a clear summary of the items to be considered, have a better grasp why Presbyterians would be proposing such actions, and be equipped to explain such topics to those in your church. The live broadcast will include a Q&A segment so you can ask your questions! Register for the live event or on-demand replay ($9.95).
