A walking meditation
Pines Presbyterian, Houston, extends an invitation to its Prayer Labyrinth, which is a new addition to the Church's ministry. The Labyrinth is a walking meditation, a single circuitous path that winds its way into and out of the center, where there is a space for contemplation and prayer. In observation of Advent, the Labyrinth will be available during a time of prayer and praise called The Center, on Wednesday evenings, Dec. 4, 11, and 18. The Center will gather in the Sanctuary at 6:00 p.m. for 30-45 minutes. The Labyrinth will be set up in the Family Life Center from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Christmas Open House
It's this Thursday! Come greet old friends and make new friends at the Presbytery's annual Christmas Open House, Thurs., Dec. 5, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Park in the lot at the back of the Center, on the surrounding streets, or in the parking lot at the corner of Yoakum and Lovett - park along the Lovett side of the lot. Tables laden with scrumptious holiday food - onsite, experienced meat carvers - a whole room just for desserts! Consider bringing something to share!

Psalms, Prophets, and Prayers
Everyone is invited to midweek Advent worship at St Philip Presbyterian on Wednesdays, Dec. 4, 11, and 18. The service begins at 12 noon with lunch available at 12:30 p.m.

Cookies Galore!
The Presbyterian Women of Spring Branch Presbyterian, Houston, will hold their annual Cookies Galore Sat., Dec. 7, in the Gathering Place at 1215 Campbell Road from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. (located at the back of the property). Homemade Christmas Cookies are for sale in decorated angel tins. Large 3 lb. tin for $15; 1 lb. tin for $8.00. All the baking is done by the men and women of the church. The proceeds of this sale are for the church's PW Scholarship/Mission fund for women in the congregation in financial need or in educational pursuit.
There will also be craft vendors selling handmade items including totes, aprons, baby crocheted items, scented candles, jewelry, soaps, herb mixtures, small quilts, napkins, Christmas ornaments, sterling silver jewelry wreaths, and greeting cards. Y'all come!

Come celebrate the joy of the season with a camel, a donkey named "Elvis," some sheep, and of course, Mary, Joseph, Jesus, and the rest of the crew! See the Living Nativity Sun., Dec. 8, 4:00-6:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Presbyterian. Free for everyone!
Consider bringing a donation of pet food to help local animals in need.

Follow the Star: an Advent event
On Sat., Dec. 7, 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m., Atascocita Presbyterian will hold its annual Advent celebration, Follow the Star. This event is a special way to remember the reason for the season and to share it with your friends and our community. Come and walk through the story, listen to musical performances, and then stay for a delicious S'more!

The Glory of Christmas at Grace
Grace Presbyterian's annual Christmas concert, The Glory of Christmas at Grace, to be held Mon., Dec. 9, 7:30 p.m., will feature the Chancel Choir, soloists, organist Dan Fenn, pianist Brian Mann, and members of the River Oaks Chamber Orchestra. They will perform music from the choir's newly released Christmas CD. The evening will be a delightful mix of musical settings, old and new, with some special musical holiday twists and some carol singing, too. No admission, open seating. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.
