 | REVIVAL THOUGHTS |
It is most significant that since the Reformation, revivals have recurred with increasing frequency. Again and again, God has rescued that which had gone beyond all human aid: what could have saved the church but these gracious interventions of almighty power?

in prayer |
Service of Compline
All are invited to attend Compline, a moving, peaceful, and spiritual form of worship, Sun., July 7, 8:00 p.m. at St. Andrew's Presbyterian, Houston. Compline, a monastic office, traditionally consists of chanted Psalms, short passages of scripture, a canticle (a liturgical song), an office hymn, and a litany, bringing together our thoughts and prayers. The service at St. Andrew's adds an introit and an anthem.
Come experience the spirituality and beauty of a Compline service! |

Supreme Court ruling and
the PC(USA)
The Office of the General Assembly has been asked to clarify if the recent ruling by the Supreme Court (The Defense of Marriage Act barring the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriages legalized by the states is unconstitutional) has any impact on the PC(USA) understanding of and polity regarding marriage.
The ruling does not change the PC(USA) definition of marriage nor allow PC(USA) teaching elders or CREs to now perform same gender weddings, even in states where it is legal. The PC(USA) constitution remains unchanged and information provided in the advisory opinion on Marriage and Same-Gender Ceremonies is still valid. |
As anticipated...

The Healthcare Committee also has recommended that there will be no changes in rates for 2014 for those congregations which participate in the Affiliated Benefits Program (ABP) as well as no increase in costs for those retired members who participate in the Medical Supplement Program.
