 | REVIVAL THOUGHTS |
It is extraordinary power from God, not talent that wins the day. It is extraordinary spiritual unction not extraordinary mental power that we need. Mental power may fill a chapel, but spiritual power fills the church with soul anguish. Mental power may gather a large congregation, but only spiritual power will save souls. What we need is spiritual power.
The theme of our 2013 presbytery meetings is
"Revival." In keeping with that theme,
Tuesday Connect is running "Revival Thoughts"
on a weekly basis. |
Special occasion for Heritage
Rev. Mark Plunkett will be installed as the called pastor for Heritage Presbyterian, Houston, on Sun., May 19, during the regular Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. The congregation is currently worshipping at the Heritage Lodge, 19201 N. Canyon Lakes Spring Drive in Cypress. All are invited to attend! |
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
On the Day of Pentecost, Sun., May 19, we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit descending in a mighty rush of wind and flame to inspire the church's proclamation of Christ's resurrection and to empower the church's mission and ministry to the world. The Spirit is the "unseenness of God" working among us. With the gift of the Spirit, all things are possible. |

Clean-up buckets needed
Heavy precipitation from 2013 storms and floods has resulted in widespread and severe flooding. Church World Service has sent an urgent appeal for additional clean-up buckets. These buckets contain necessary supplies such as sponges and soap, but they are also a reminder of hope and an example of Christian compassion.
