REVIVAL THOUGHTS
It is most significant that since the Reformation, revivals have recurred with increasing frequency. Again and again, God has rescued that which had gone beyond all human aid: what could have saved the church but these gracious interventions of almighty power.
             - D. M. Panton,
In the Day of Thy Power by Arthur Wallis

The theme of our 2013 presbytery meetings is
"Revival." In keeping with that theme,
Tuesday Connect is running "Revival Thoughts"
on a weekly basis.
What are you doing at 10:02 every morning?
The recent Church Innovations training inspired the Evangelism and Renewal Committee to pray more diligently for God to enliven our presbytery to be involved in evangelism and in planting new worshiping communities. The committee was encouraged to pray Luke 10:2 at 10:02 a.m. every morning. Praying may not feel like much, but when we do it consistently, in community, with the expectation that God will answer, God does answer.

You are strongly encouraged to join the E&R Committee in praying to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest field. You will hear more at the next presbytery meeting. For now, set the alarm on your phone and when it rings at 10:02 a.m., pray! If someone nearby hears the alarm, it may be a great conversation starter!

Board of PensionsBoard of Pensions wants to hear from you!

Those attending last week's Board of Pensions Regional Benefits Consultation were asked to urge you to submit your feedback on the upcoming changes to the health care benefits. Please check this link to explore the options and let your voice be heard.

Correction:
Last week's Tuesday Connect misidentified the church that dedicated its new building this month after a devastating fire 3 years ago. The church shown in the video is Community of the Servant Savior, Houston.   Video

sealGreat scam alert!

Recently the national office of the PC(USA) was contacted by people who received a mailing with a Canadian postmark and a cover letter which says "Presbyterian Church Grant." The letter with the address of the PC(USA) national offices in Louisville purports to announce that the recipient has been awarded a grant from the Grants Association or the Grant Board of Commission. The letter includes a check allegedly issued on an account from PNC Bank.

Anyone who receives this letter notification is warned that this letter is a fake and the grant award is a scam. The PC(USA) does not have a Grant Board of Commission or Grants Association. Although the PC(USA) awards grants, it did not send out these particular grant award notices. People who receive this notice are advised to disregard it. The PC(USA) has notified the Federal Trade Commission of this scam and has contacted PNC Bank.
