Soles Artists Hard at Work!
Artists for Soles of Haverhill 2014 are hard at work on shoes to be installed in mid-September in prominent locations around the city. Shown here is the faculty-student team working on a shoe for NECC. Follow the artists' progress and view photos on Facebook and Instagram. View historic images collected for the Shoe-la-bration Pop-Up Museum Exhibit (calendar below) by clicking Pop-Up Images.

Volunteer Expo--Call for Exhibitors!
Inspired by a conversation at Possible Dreams this year, four Haverhill nonprofits teamed up to organize the First Annual Haverhill Volunteer Expo, scheduled for Sunday, September 28, 12-3 pm, at the Haverhill YMCA. Seven different organizations are already signed up to participate, and yours can too. Download and distribute the Expo Flyer, or use this Exhibitor Registration form to reserve a booth.
Farmers Market in Full Swing
Fresh Produce
With mid-summer produce flowing in and local supermarkets facing difficulties, Haverhill Farmers Market is the place to be on Saturday mornings, from 9 am to 1 pm, on Bailey Boulevard next to the Police Station. More than two dozen vendors offer locally produced crops, baked goods, wine, and crafts.  Plus weekly live music and activity tent for children. More information on Facebook.
Neighbors Meet with Mayor
On July 16, ten residents of the Portland Street area met with Mayor Fiorentini, Vinny Ouellette, Deputy Chief Thompson, and community police officers to discuss ways to keep the playground clean, safe, and positive. Neighbors called for installation of cameras, plus signs with park hours and rules.  Residents are forming a "Portland Park Patrol" to do daily monitoring and clean-up. City officials expressed commitment to work with in partnership with neighbors. For info: Playground Committee Email.
