Last Chance to Sponsor a Shoe Bench!
Imagine this whimsical shoe bench (shown here unpainted) decorated with an artist's colorful design and installed in a public location you help select! June 6 is the last day to claim your shoe, so that we can unveil the results in late September, during "Trails and Sails" weekends.  Sponsorships start at $3000, for a shoe and plaque that will advertise your business or organization for years to come. For information, please contact Soles.
Playground "Community Build"--June 7-8
It's happening!  Modifications on the wall at Portland Street Playground are under way, and a "community build" to install the new playground equipment and mulch will take place on Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8. Community volunteers (teens and adults) are needed both days, and no construction experience is required. Time slots are Saturday morning; Saturday afternoon; Sunday morning; Sunday afternoon.  Please email your contact information and preferred time slot to Alice, and we will provide you with more details.
Haverhill Experimental Film Festival

One aspiration that comes up regularly at Possible Dreams is a downtown movie theater. The organizers of HEFF are once again giving Haverhill a little piece of that dream with the only experimental film festival in Massachusetts--scheduled for May 29-June 1. For full information about attending, click HEFF.
Volunteer Expo Scheduled for Fall
May Update
A multi-agency planning team led by Tracy Fuller (Haverhill YMCA) and Julie Herget (Team Haverhill) has announced a Volunteer Expo to take place Sun., Sept. 28, noon to 3pm at the YWCA. To reserve a table for your nonprofit, please contact Tracy. This idea emerged at January's "Possible Dreams" community event, and "got legs" when leaders stepped up from local groups to turn this good idea into a reality!
Please Vote on June 10

Don't forget to go to the polls on June 10, to participate in an important community decision--funding replacement of the deteriorated Hunking School. As previous school construction debt is retired, voters will decide whether to continue the debt payments (already part of property tax bills) in order to support a next round of construction.
