1. Clean Up Portland Playground--4/26
This Saturday, Team Haverhill volunteers will be cleaning up in and around Portland Street Playground starting at 9 am--in preparation May and June renovations. The location is just below 5th Avenue. At 11 am, we will conduct an informal Community Meeting at the site, with updates on the plan. To let us know you will join us for this fix-up clean-up event, please email your name and contact information to Penny.
That's also YMCA's Healthy Kids Day--click here for more information.
2. Promote "Fun Night" Benefit at "Y"--5/2
Haverhill YMCA is holding a playground benefit "Friday Fun Night" on May 2, 6-9 pm, for children in grades K-5--whole family can attend for just $20 if they pre-register by April 25. Please share this info with your networks, including this registration packet.  Or email the Haverhill YMCA to request additional information.  Checks to "Haverhill YMCA" can be dropped off at 81Winter Street.  (Register on 5/2 for $2 more)
3. Get a Limited Edition "Playground" Hat

At key events--including this Saturday's clean-up and the "Community Build" on June 7--contributors of $15 (or more!) will receive a hat that says: "Our POSITIVE Place--Portland Street Playground."  Businesses, churches, schools and agencies in the playground neighborhood can arrange to become "hat and donation" sites by emailing Alice with your contact information.

5. Participate on June 10

In a special ballot on June 10, Haverhill voters will decide whether to approve a funding proposal aimed at replacing the Hunking School.  Here is a news article about the issue.  Please study the proposal, talk with neighbors, then come out to vote Tuesday, June 10.  Thoughtful participation is an important way to support our city's children.
