River Ruckus is this Saturday!!!
Presented by Team Haverhill, in conjunction with the Haverhill Rotary Club's "Rubber Duck Regatta"
Key Venues: Besides the riverfront area, key venues include: 90 Washington Street (Arts and Crafts Faire); 22 Washington Street, Sage Gallery (Juried Art Show); and Washington Street itself (Classic Car Show). Complete Event Information
Parking and Street Closings: We suggest the Parking Garage on Granite Street: Ruckus special rate is $1 for the whole day! You can also park for free at the City's Merrimack Street parking facility. Washington Street will be closed to all traffic from 1-5 pm. The lot behind the Tap will be closed from 11 am until 10 pm.
Weather: Looks like a sunny day and a cool evening, so bring along some warmer layers.
Mosquito Precautions: We are monitoring MA public health info: State Website. Haverhill is listed as "Low Risk" for EEE, and "Moderate Risk" for West Nile virus. State recommendations for dusk and evening activities include proper use of DEET repellent, cover-up clothing, and mosquito nets on baby carriages. Mayor Fiorentini has arranged for the festival area to be sprayed by early Friday morning, to minimize mosquito activity. To help ensure the safety of evening attendees, Merrimack Valley Hospital is providing information packets and a supply of repellent spray for the Health and Safety Table, which will open at 5 pm.
