Today I'm at the funeral of a well-respected Mayor, Politician and an all-round great man ... Steve Jones (Lockyer Valley Mayor).
Steve was more than a mayor, he was a mate ... when we had local fires at my farm he was there with machinery to help fight it, when we had floods and Yvette got caught at home he was one of the first ones to get back in asking if we needed generators etc to get by.
Steve and his family are wonderful people that just want to make a difference in everything they do whether it is for the local district or anyone in need.
Steve's passion was trucks, old machinery and the agricultural community. He was well respected by everyone that knew him from all walks of life and could mix it with kings and paupers ... but he was definitely a hands on man.
Steve will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered for the wonderful things he has done in times of development and disaster.
