Here is an update on Mike and Traecy's trek through North Queensland ...
Over the last nine days, Traecy Atkins and I, made our way to Atherton in Far North Queensland (Inland from Cairns), with the Super Charged AU Falcon in tow to attend to one of our sponsored PBR Rodeos. In the three days it took us to get there, we visited most of our Dealers in each town and also called in on some of our customers. It was great to be able to introduce young Traecy to our Clients, helping him to put a name to the face, so to speak.
Whilst up on the Tablelands, we caught up with Frank Villella and also Justin and Ben Poggioli from the Tolga region (Inland from Cairns). We also caught up with Luke Russo and his son Dean just below Innisfail ...
We met with Beccy Shepherd at GF Rural in Tully for some Farm visits whilst in the area. Here is a shot of Traecy with Beccy checking out a locally built Spray Rig, to suit the Cane crops in the area ...
We also called in on Rikki Chislett of Cardwell Automotive and Towing Services (between Cairns and Townsville) and Phil McMahon of McMahon's Truck and Trailer Parts of Charters Towers (inland from Townsville). Further down the coast we dropped in on Greg and Brad Gilroy at the Bowen Engine Centre, who use and sell the Gulf Western Oil range of lubricants in the area ...
I would like to thank Nathan Grech of Ontrack Harvesting - Sarina (near Mackay), for once again spending the time to take Traecy and myself for a run in the Cane Harvester and Haul Out Assemblies. It was great to experience the Cane Harvest first hand. This is the view I had, sitting in the JD Tractor with the Haul Out Bin Attached, reversing up the row, chasing the JD3520 Cane Harvester, Nathan Grech at the wheel and Traecy riding as a passenger ...
We called in on the team at Tractor Central - Gracemere (near Rockhampton), Col, Debbie and the Lads, who are a distributor of ours, selling our range of Agricultural Parts and Gulf Western Oil ...
We visited Justin Staier, just north of Clermont (inland between Mackay and Rockhampton) and here is a photo of Traecy with Gary Rogers of Vanderfield Machinery - Biloela ...
In summing up, it has been very dry in the North, with everyone hoping to receive a good Wet Season next time around.
Cheers
Mike Sullivan.
