Citizens Clearinghouse Program to launch in Florida on Jan. 27
On Jan 27, the Clearinghouse Program of Citizens Property Insurance Corporation will launch for HO3 new business with several private market insurance carriers. It's important that agencies follow the Allstate Property Protocol for Allstate Exclusive Agencies outlined below. The Clearinghouse Program will initially offer new HO3 property policies with several private-market carriers. Renewal business, additional lines of business, and additional carriers will be added to the Clearinghouse Program throughout 2014. The Clearinghouse Program will launch on Jan 27 with United Property & Casualty, Florida Peninsula Insurance Company and Cabrillo Coastal General Insurance Agency, Inc. (Safe Harbor). These carriers are currently available to agents through Expanded Market Programs coordinated by Ivantage. The Florida region is committed to supporting our agencies to serve the property needs of customers by allowing agents to decide whether to participate in Citizens Clearinghouse. Because agencies are exclusive agents of Allstate / Castle Key and in order to maintain a healthy expanded market program that provides the broadest spectrum of property options to customers, it's important that agency owners adhere to the following protocol when quoting new and renewal homeowners and renters business. Please follow the Property Protocol for Allstate Agencies detailed below: 1. Castle Key Insurance Company Products 2. Ivantage Expanded Market Programs 3. Citizens Property Insurance Clearinghouse If available, agents must offer a Castle Key product first as an exclusive agent of Allstate and Castle Key. If a Castle Key policy is available, agents cannot offer coverage through an expanded market carrier or the Clearinghouse. If a policy is not available with Castle Key Insurance, and agents are participants in Expanded Market Programs, then agents can offer coverage through the Expanded Market Programs. If coverage is not available through Expanded Market Programs, agents can then consider offering coverage through the Clearinghouse. Some of the private-market carriers initially participating in the Clearinghouse also participate in the Expanded Market Programs. Agents can obtain quotes with Expanded Market carriers through the Ivantage Platform or directly through the carrier's website. Additional communication will follow next week, regarding Expanded Market carriers who are opening agent enrollment for appointments. Since agencies will have the ability to write directly, these expanded market carriers will not offer a limited servicing agreement through the Clearinghouse Program. Only those Clearinghouse carriers not in the Expanded Market Programs may offer a limited servicing agreement to Allstate Agents.
