Workflow in the Field
By Tom Inglesby, ConstructTech

Ed Hamm, Systems Administrator, Jacobs Engineering, www.jacobs.com, Pasadena California works out of the company's Bellevue, Wash., office and has been assigned to a remote project for seven years. During that time, Jacobs has been using Internet-hosted applications to handle the project.

Hamm recalls how Jacobs Engineering got started with its current software provider. As the company was planning on developing workflows for its project, it decided to examine the landscape of technology. The decision ultimately came to implement a product called Intellect from Interneer. www.interneer.com, Culver City Calif., due to the fact the company believed it had a strong workflow module. Another key was the flexibility that has allowed the company to update and customize to accommodate changes in the workflow ever since.

Silliker Automates Complex Learning Management Process On the Interneer Intellect Platform

Silliker, a division of Merieux NutrisSciences, is dedicated to helping companies worldwide find practical solutions to today's food safety, quality and nutrition challenges throughout the supply chain. Silliker came to Interneer looking for a solution to alleviate a problematic training issue.

Employees had training binders that were about 3-4 inches thick of documentation compiled over the years. Labs with more than 100 employees had to assign entire walls to store all training documentation in binders. The company's training requirements were strict. The new system needed to keep up with extensive training documentation from all employees to assure Silliker was delivering the right quality of good practices. In addition, all documentation had to be audited by multiple regulatory agencies, clients as well as internal quality personnel. The problem was getting worse as more training was assigned and they needed to find a solution.

The company used Interneer Intellect to deploy a Learning Management System that could successfully capture and manage their unique training requirements.

So Long Mobile Websites, Say Hello to More Mobile Apps

mobileapps
Tablets and smartphones make our lives easier. They are compact and allow more flexibility in the business world, where our professional and personal lives demand having access to any of our business tasks and data on the go. But let's think further, flexibility to access the web and other software programs has become a necessity rather than an option. Many of us can't even imagine what our lives would be like without access to the internet on a daily basis.

Mobile websites started a trend that has revolutionized how customers share and process information. However, just like any other invention, mobile websites are now losing popularity as mobile apps become more popular and available in the market.

How popular have these new mobile Apps become? Compuware, a technology performance company, conducted a survey of 3,500 consumers to analyze their behavior on mobile devices.
The findings show that Mobile Apps are rapidly becoming more popular than mobile websites.
